The JMLSG Board has approved revisions to its Guidance to reflect changes in the UK AML regime to be introduced by the Money Laundering Regulations 2007.

The revised Guidance takes account of comments received on the Consultation draft that was published on 29 June 2007. The Guidance is being published now to give firms an early opportunity to see the extent of the changes from the Consultation draft.

The revised Guidance has been submitted to HM Treasury for approval (through its advisory committee) by a Treasury Minister, as provided for under the Money Laundering Regulations 2007, the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and the Terrorism Act 2000. The revised Guidance will take effect from 15 December 2007, when the Money Laundering Regulations 2007 also take effect.

When the Guidance is approved by a Treasury Minister, a further announcement will be posted to this JMLSG website.
